DITI: PREVENTION OF BREAST DISEASES
Thermography's role in breast cancer and other breast disorders is to help in early detection
and monitoring of abnormal physiology at the cellular level, along with the establishment of
risk factors for the development or existence of cancer. This test is designed to improve
chances for detecting fast-growing, active tumors in the intervals between mammographic
screenings, or when mammography is not indicated by screening guidelines for women
under 50 years of age.
As cancer develops, cancerous cells lay down their own "infrastructure", similar to a housing
development laying down water and gas lines, electrical lines, sewer pipes, and roads into
and out of the new development.
Thermography has the ability to visualize this "infrastructure" being built; when cellular
changes are occurring, but no visible or palpable abnormality is noted. At this stage of breast
disease, inflammation is present and medical infrared thermal cameras are able to identify
temperature variances as well as abnormal vascular patterns.
With this early alert to changes in a woman's breast physiology, lifestyle changes and
improvements (see Breast Case Studies | Case Study #3) and other interventions can
ensue. You and your healthcare practitioner can carefully lay out a plan in an effort to halt or
reverse the progression of breast disease.
